Elizabeth Louise (Stamm) Roberts of Savannah, GA died Friday, May 20, 2016 after a short illness at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah with her family by her side. Elizabeth was a graduate of Holy Angel Academy (1948) and Marquette University (1952, BS in Mathematics) in Milwaukee. She and her husband raised their children in Brookfield, Wisconsin and Savannah, GA. She later taught algebra at Memorial High School and St. Vincent’s Academy and tutored many Benedictine Military School students. She also taught algebra and mathematical thinking to advanced groups of upper classes at St. James Catholic Grade School, where she led them in several mathematics contests at Armstrong State University and state contests in Atlanta. Math was her second language.
Visitation with the family and Rosary will be at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 23 with Rosary at 6:00 PM.
The funeral Mass will be at St James Catholic Church on Montgomery Crossroads at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 24 followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice Savannah, Inc. where Liz volunteered at P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
We just heard the sad news. Geraldine was Liz's sorority sister at Marquette in the 'old'n days'. We still remember the fun vacations with the Roberts clan when we lived in Milwaukee. We hope to visit Savannah soon. Deepest sympathies.

Bob - Those were good times when Helen & Liz grew up together and we all got to know each other. And those times continued for many, many years. Our trip to France was great fun together - Liz was so anxious with my driving but we survived. And, the first time we tried boiled peanuts in Savannah with you was an experience we all smile at. We think of all of your Family, most of whom we have visited at one time or another - particularly we recall daily the St. Patrick's Day Parade folk art picture by Chris - a masterpiece on our kitchen wall. We share your grief at losing your lifelong partner but we also share your joy at knowing that Liz is now in her rightful place in Heaven. So, Bob, fair winds and following seas.
- Helen & Chuck Fischer, Torrance, CA
Our thoughts are with you all at this sorrowful time, but we hope as your family gathers together you will find comfort in each others company. Tom, we're sure your Mom is most proud of the boys she raised and especially so of her grandchildren. With our love - Alice and Blackwell
